Elamma has a degree in Psychology from Gujarat University, Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicines, UK. She has had various international trainings which include Household Economic Security, Emergency Market Mapping Analysis, Sphere, Gender and Security management. She has 25 years of national and international experience in the humanitarian relief and development sector with INGOs such as OXFAM, Médecins sans Frontières and the Red Cross and Red Crescent Society on bilateral and multilateral cooperation projects in partnership with civil society organizations. She is competent in programme and personnel management particularly in livelihoods, education, mainstreaming gender and inclusion of socially excluded groups of people. Elamma is interested in international trends in humanitarian sector, project and organization management systems besides looking at humane interest stories with people’s participation.
