Dr. Mehta is veteran agriculture scientist with PhD in plant physiology and plant breeding and M.Sc. in Agriculture. He is one of the lead scientist and is involved in the invention of 15 agriculture crops of cereal, spices and cash crops during his public service career and have 35 years of research, extension and administration experience. His work has been published and acknowledged in form of research, technical articles, and books and guided many students. He is president of Gujarat Association for Agriculture Sciences and ex -Joint secretary of Gujarat Horticulture Association. He was associated as a Penal Expert Member for ICAR and members in agriculture universities research committees, and expert for project of international bodies like IFAD, EU etc. His additional expertise includes natural resource management, rural livelihood, Disaster management and women empowerment.
